over 5 years. This one point guard of upper-middle quality will make
enough dollars to create a 100 millionaires. Or perhaps help pay off
the national debt. Let me digress, this isn't an argument about how
much players make. This is a statement about how much some owners are
willing pay for players who are above average, even slightly above
average as is this case.
Tony Parker by the way, 4th in True Shooting %, Assist Rate 13th, Turn Over Rate is 2nd, Adjusted Win Score is 3rd and San Antonio Spurs point guard rank is 3rd. Tony's salary is $37,500,000 over 3 years. Goes to show that if you throw money at a problem, it's not going to always solve said problem.
It's the regular season. Ho hum. Who cares? Trouncing through one opponent after another. An occasional bump here and there. Some tinkering, refinement. Perfecting the Silver and Black beast. Will it be enough in the end? Only time will tell but until then we have to acknowledge the fact that the regular season means very little to us.
We are after one thing and one thing only. A rematch of the Western Conference Finals. It won't be easy. We'll have to go through Grizzlies, Warriors, Timberwolves, Clipper ships, Jazz musicians and whatever the hell a Lake-r is. All this just to get our hands on a young gun team full of Thunder. F-em. But, first we have to get past this new Brooklyn team. They're just one more step towards our goal.
Who's their coach? P.J. Carlismo, a former assistant coach to Pop. Too bad he didn't stick around. I'm sure Pop has his number.
Who's their best player? Deron Williams. Never bothered us before. Even back in the day when he was coached by one of the best, Jerry Sloan, he still couldn't defeat us. Oh, he was also coached by a former Spur, Avery Johnson. Word is, he got Avery canned just like he did Jerry. Coach killer. Williams doesn't even deserve the credit, the power to fire coaches but somehow he has been associated with it. Perhaps the GMs and owners have had more faith in Williams than in their coaches. Too bad for them. I can tell he isn't worth it.
